FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
How do I book a session with you? It's really easy! First, you get in touch with me through the website (contact form here), or on IG (IG icon) or email (contact@tanyamartinovicphotography.com). Then I will reply within 24 hours. We'll schedule a quick video chat to talk about dates, locations and anything else you want to talk about. Lastly, once you sign the contract and pay the session fee (not the package), your session date is booked!

Do you shoot only outdoors? The short answer is yes. BUT, and there is a but, I will anywhere you feel comfortable. Lighting and space play a huge role in deciding the best place for your family session. I always have suggestions for locations that I have found to be beautiful, with lots of space but more importantly, have access to parking and are safe for kids to run around and have a great experience. If you have a place in mind, please tell me and we'll work together on making a decision.

What's the best time of day to have our session? When it comes to timing, 2 things are key. Lighting and the kids schedule. I generally shoot early morning (not for everyone, I know) or early evening. These times have the softest, most flattering light with no harsh shadows. Happy kids make for a smooth session. Depending on the age, naps are important and well as being fed. So if your little ones have a full belly and are well rested, we'll be ready for fun. We will work on a schedule that suits you and has great lighting.

Can I have a session during the week?Absolutely! We can book your session any day of the week. It all depends on you and your family's schedule. There is a bonus to booking on a weekday - popular locations are less crowded!
-
What if any of us get sick?We all know this is a real possibility with kids. It's no problem! We will reschedule your session for a another day.
-
What should I pack for our session? That's a great question! Nothing is best, but that's not realistic with younger kids. My best advice is having one bag that you can pick up and put down easily, fits everything inside and is comfortable. Possibly pack: water, snacks (non-messy snacks. No chocolate!), wipes, nappies, spare clothes (for babies, just in case). You'll also need room for keys, wallets and phones.

Do you have sessions outside of Melbourne?Yes, of course! There may be a travel fee, depending on the location. Let me know where it is you're thinking and I'll let you know.

What if my kids don't behave?I want the whole session to be fun for them so there is no pressure for them to behave. My style is also very relaxed - there's not a lot of stand still and smile at the camera. With games and prompts, the kids usually feel like they've just been playing with mum and dad and if they do become restless or unhappy, we take a break or change it up. Nothing fazes me with kids. I've got two of my own and have worked with kids for a long time. So as long as we don't yell at them or make them feel like they've done something wrong, we'll get great natural smiles out of them and they won't even know it!
-
What clothes do we wear? You'll get a guide from me that goes through the ins and outs of dressing for a session with me. I will also chat with you about it in our initial video call as well as throughout the process. Getting the right clothes ready isn't a one day job, so I'll be there through text or call to help out.
-
How long will it take to get my photos?Your gallery will be delivered in 1-2 weeks. I usually am too excited to wait for then so you'll most likely get a sneak peek in a day or two!
-
Do you do any retouching?I like to keep things as natural as possible. I usually edit out things like bruises, dirt marks or pimples, and only if it's super obvious or detracts from the image. But that's about it. Any major issues are dealt with in-session (moving hair, fixing shirt etc) or is otherwise loved how it is.
