Frequently asked questions
I recommend booking 4-6 weeks ahead, and even earlier for weekends or peak seasons. This ensures your preferred date and time slot. It also gives you time to get the outfits together with my help.
The session fee covers my time and experience, location planning, the shoot itself, and your edited high-resolution images delivered in an online gallery. It also includes all the behind-the-scenes things that make your session run smoothly — from helping you choose outfits to guiding you during the shoot.
All of my sessions are outdoors — it’s where families relax most and where the light and scenery work their magic. I’ve sourced some beautiful spots around Melbourne that are easy to get to, have plenty of parking, and are safe for kids while still being absolutely stunning. You really don’t have to stress about finding “the perfect place” — that’s my speciality. That being said, if there’s somewhere special to you, like your local park or even your backyard, I’m happy to chat about that too.
I’ll help you with this — promise! Once your session is booked, I’ll send you a simple styling guide and we can chat through ideas. The goal is to have you all looking coordinated but not “matchy.” Think soft, neutral tones, layers, and clothes you can move in. No need to overthink it — I’m here to help make it easy (and fun). Most clients use a mix of what they have at home and some bought items.
I’ve got two boys of my own, so I know how unpredictable (and hilarious) things can get. I keep things light, playful, and flexible — we run, play games, and I sneak in the in-between moments that really matter. No stiff posing or forced smiles here, just your family being yourselves.
Ah, Melbourne — we know how quickly it can turn! If the weather’s looking grim (wind, rain, or moody grey that doesn’t suit), we’ll simply reschedule to another day. There’s no fee for that. I want the light and the comfort to be just right for you.
Depends on your package. It ranges from 10 images to full gallery which is generally 60 (or more). It'll be a gallery of beautifully edited images — enough to tell the full story without being overwhelming. I usually deliver galleries within 1–2 weeks. I’ll keep you updated if I’m running ahead or need a touch more time.
Absolutely. I offer professional prints, wall art, and albums — things made to last and look beautiful in your home. Digital files are wonderful, but there’s nothing like seeing your photos printed. I can help you choose what suits your space and style.
Totally normal — most people do! My sessions aren’t about performing for the camera. I’ll guide you the whole way with simple, natural prompts that get you interacting rather than posing. Before long, you’ll forget I’m even there (and that’s when the magic happens).
Life happens — especially with kids. If someone’s unwell, we’ll reschedule. I just ask that you let me know as soon as possible so we can find another date that works for everyone.
My heart belongs to outdoor light — it’s where families relax best and kids can move freely. But if you prefer something cosy at home, we can definitely chat about it. I love a good cup of tea and window light just as much as golden hour glow.
Yes, a deposit is required to lock in your date. Once that’s done, the session is officially yours! The remainder is due 24 hours before the session date. I’ll send everything through clearly so there are no surprises.
If the weather forces us to reschedule, no problem at all. If you need to change the date for personal reasons, just let me know as early as possible and we’ll sort something out. Life’s busy — I get it!
I plan most sessions for golden hour — that magical light just after sunrise or before sunset. It’s soft, flattering, and makes everything feel a bit dreamy. If that time doesn’t suit little ones, we can make adjustments — I always put comfort first.
Usually around an hour, give or take. Long enough for everyone to relax and for me to capture genuine moments, but not so long that kids (or dads!) start asking when it’s over.
Yes, always. Whether you’ve got toddlers, teens, or three generations together, my goal is to photograph your family exactly as it is — connection, laughter, and all the beautiful chaos in between.
I always have a plan in place to capture everything we need — all the connection, movement and little details that tell your story. But if there’s a particular photo you have in mind, let me know toward the end of the session and I’ll do my best to make it happen. Sometimes those spontaneous requests turn out to be favourites!
Easy! Send me a message through my contact page and we’ll find a date that works. Once your booking is confirmed, I’ll send through all the details — the styling guide, location options, and a little pre-session checklist to keep things simple and stress-free.
